# Monday Report Templates

> Upload a sample report and the AI mirrors its structure for every future weekly report — or stick with the built-in Standard Weekly Recap.

**Monday Report Templates** controls the layout of every generated report. Open it from the **Templates** button in the Monday Reports header.

## Built-in template

The **Standard Weekly Recap** ships with the product and is marked **Built-in** in the templates list. It's the fallback when no custom template is set:

> When no template is set, the built-in *Standard Weekly Recap* structure is used. Set a template as default to start generating reports against it.

You can preview the built-in template but can't edit or delete it.

## Upload a custom template

Select **+ Upload template** in the top right to open the **Upload Report Template** dialog.

### Fields

| Field                                   | Notes                                                                                                   |
| --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Choose file** | Sample report file. Supported formats: **PDF, DOCX, MD, HTML, or TXT**. Max **5 MB**. |
| **Template name** | Required. Shown in the templates list and in the Generate dialog. |
| **Scope (optional)** | Which businesses this template applies to. Leave empty to apply to **all businesses in the tenant**. |
| **Set as default for the chosen scope** | Toggle on so future reports in that scope use this template automatically without picking it each time. |

Select **Upload & Analyze** to save. The AI parses the file, learns the structure (sections, ordering, tone, chart placement), and stores a versioned template ready for use.

<Note>
  The uploaded file is treated as a **structural example**, not a content source. Real numbers always come from the live Facebook and GoHighLevel data for the report's week.
</Note>

## Templates list

The list shows every available template with these columns:

| Column      | Description                                                                                                      |
| ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Name** | Template name plus the **Built-in** badge for the system default. |
| **Ver.** | Version number (for example, *v1*). Increments when you re-upload. |
| **Updated** | When the template was last modified. *—* for the built-in. |
| **Actions** | Preview, **Set as default** (star), regenerate analysis, and delete icons. Built-in templates only show preview. |

## Versioning

Re-uploading a template (same name + scope) increments the version. Previously generated reports keep referencing the version they were rendered with, so older reports stay readable even after you change the template.

## Where templates are used

* The **Template** dropdown in the [Generate Monday Report](/product/monday-reports/reports#generate-a-report) dialog lists every template available to the selected business.
* When the **Set as default** flag is on, scheduled [Automation](/product/monday-reports/automation) runs use the default automatically.
